A cowardly action It is a shame that “reproductive rights” have taken the place of personal responsibility. No longer do we need to fear the consequences of our actions and learn from our mistakes. We have a way to gloss over the decision to abstain from sex or to use birth control. Now, it is OK to abort the consequence of an action where we chose not to be responsible, and call it a “right.” It is much easier to live with the thought of exercising “reproductive rights” than entertain the thought that a life was just ended because of an inability — or lack of willingness — to take the steps necessary to prevent the pregnancy in the first place.
